On one of my previous videos where I showed you the rear storage in my T4 Transporter van, you will notice that the bouldering mats are stored on the floor.
Now having used the van over the past few weeks, it dawned on me that there is a lot of wasted space above the bouldering mats. So I have now had a little rethink about using this space.
The solution I have come up with is a small shelf that I made in the garage at home. The bouldering mats now fit on top of the shelf, and are now flush with the inside roof of the van.
So I now have space below the shelf which has allowed me to move my climbing rope bags, walking shoes, and chalk bucket into the back of the van. These items were previously taking up space in the storage areas in the living area of the van.
So by doing this I now have a nice self contained area in the back of the van for all my outdoor equipment, whilst freeing up loads of space in the front living area of the van. Why I didn’t think of this before I don’t know!
But it goes to show that through use of the van, you get to realise there may be better ways to do things, and the van evolves to your needs over time – just as it should be!
